DISCOVERING AND DEVELOPING ASSETS TO DELIVER OUR FUTURE

According to the United Nations, sustainable development is “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” At RTRA, we strive to adhere to this definition of sustainable development by prioritizing education, discovery, and development of our assets before tampering with solving multi-generational generational challenges.

Our Sustainability Initiative in rural Uganda is broken down into four 4 areas: Farm2Feed, Skills Training, Brick Project, and Leadership Development with a coordinator responsible for each. We organize our work around our network of RTRA Child and Community Development centers. The centers are made up of multiple neighboring villages and are supervised by a team of native leaders who ensure that each child has a native champion. Every household has an advocate to ensure the sustainable development for each family, and ultimately, the greater community.
